| Obverse description | A bound wheatsheaf occupies the center of the design, its fanned base rendered with fine parallel lines and its ears of grain splaying outward at the top. Superimposed across the middle of the sheaf is a horizontal cartouche containing the German proverb 'Sich regen bringt Segen' (industry brings blessing), inscribed in two lines of Fraktur blackletter script. The entire design is enclosed within a rope or cable border running along the coin's inner rim, and the Hamburg mint mark 'J' appears at the base of the field below the sheaf. |
