Obverse description A centrally positioned wheatsheaf occupies the full field, its bound lower stalks fanning outward into a decorative base and its ears of wheat splaying prominently at the top. Superimposed across the middle of the sheaf is a rectangular banner divided into two registers, bearing the German proverb 'Sich regen bringt Segen' (industry brings reward) rendered in bold Fraktur blackletter script. The mint mark 'J' for the Hamburgische Münze appears at the base of the sheaf, below the banner. The entire design is enclosed within a rope-style beaded border. The composition is rendered in a flat, graphic style characteristic of the early Weimar Republic emergency coinage period.
