Obverse description Bare-headed right-facing effigy of King Otto of Bavaria, rendered in fine relief with naturalistic portraiture. The truncation of the neck is cleanly cut, positioned at the lower centre of the field. The circular legend OTTO KOENIG VON BAYERN runs along the inner border of a beaded rim, interrupted at the base by the mint mark D. The overall style reflects the academic portraiture typical of late Imperial German coinage.

Reverse description Large numeral '50' dominates the central field, surrounded by a wreath of stylised laurel or oak branches arranged in a circular composition. The legend DEUTSCHES REICH arcs across the upper portion of the field, with the date 1903 following along the right side. The denomination PFENNIG is inscribed across the lower arc, completing the circular design. The entire motif is contained within a beaded border, consistent with the standard Imperial German Pfennig reverse type of the period.
