Obverse description Within a beaded inner circle, the large denomination numeral '50' is prominently displayed in the central field. A circular legend reading 'GELDERSATZMARKE DER STADT MARKSTÄDT' surrounds the beaded circle, flanked by floral ornaments, with the date '1918' positioned at the base between two decorative stops. The entire design is contained within a beaded outer rim following the octagonal flan.

Reverse description The central field displays the municipal coat of arms of Markstädt, consisting of two quartered or impaled shields surmounted by a displayed eagle as crest, with decorative scrollwork flanking the shields on either side. The entire composition is bordered by a continuous beaded rim following the octagonal outline of the flan, with no legend or lettering present.
