Reverse description The reverse presents a richly coloured landscape vignette of 'Partie in Pulverbek', a wooded stream scene near Eutin rendered in green, blue, and brown tones, framed by an arched canopy of trees and a decorative conifer-branch border. The denomination numeral '50' appears in large white figures at upper left and upper right against the blue sky background. Below the landscape, a musical staff carries a printed score with the text from Weber's opera Der Freischütz: '(Freischütz) Durch die Wälder, durch die Auen zog ich leichten Sinn's dahin'.

Eutin's veterans' association issued this note in 1921 as Notgeld — emergency small change that flooded Germany during the coin shortages of the early Weimar years. Kriegerverein issues occupy an odd niche in the Notgeld canon: they were simultaneously functional currency substitutes and fundraising tools, with associations frequently using attractive designs to encourage collectors to never redeem them at all. The printer, Gebrüder Borchers of Lübeck, handled a substantial volume of regional Notgeld during this period.

Bruno Wolf's design credit is worth noting — named designers on Notgeld of this scale are less common than the collector market sometimes implies.
