Körlin an der Persante — now Karlino in northwestern Poland — was one of hundreds of small Pomeranian towns that issued emergency scrip during the acute coin shortage of 1919. Selmar Bayer in Berlin handled a substantial volume of this municipal notgeld work, and the print quality on Körlin's issues is noticeably better than many comparable town emissions of the period.
The Gra#K38.1d reference places this among the Grabowski-catalogued variants, suggesting minor distinguishing features — likely a signature, serial number range, or paper stock difference — from adjacent listings in the K38 series.
