Gollnow — now Goleniów, Poland — issued porcelain notgeld during the acute coin shortage that followed Germany's postwar economic dislocation. Brown-glazed porcelain pieces from this municipality were produced by one of the Meissen-affiliated manufacturers supplying emergency coinage to dozens of Pomeranian towns simultaneously in 1921, making regional attribution sometimes the only reliable distinguishing factor between otherwise near-identical pieces.
