| Obverse description | Central vignette of the 1855 watchtower atop the Kickelhahn mountain, rendered in fine letterpress style, flanked symmetrically by silhouetted profile portraits of Goethe within decorative borders. The designer's credit and city name are integrated into the lower border, while validity clause, Notgeld issue authority text, and the facsimile signature of the Oberbürgermeister appear in the surrounding text panels. The overall composition reflects the artistic Notgeld tradition of the early Weimar period, with period gothic and roman typefaces throughout. |
