Obverse description The obverse is printed in red, black, and blue on a cream ground, with a bold orange underprint border. A jagged black horizontal band across the centre carries the denomination numeral '50' in blue at each side, flanking a central oval cartouche in gold enclosing the crowned lion coat of arms of Zeulenroda above a brickwork base. A scrolled upper panel in red on white bears a four-line German verse in red letterpress. The lower register contains three lines of red letterpress text giving the issuing authority, validity clause, date, and the manuscript signature of the Bürgermeister Rosmann, with the printer's imprint 'Otto Henning A.-G., Greiz' at foot.

Reverse description The reverse is printed in black, gold, green, and red on a cream ground, with a radiating yellow sunburst underprint filling the field. A large central oval vignette, framed by an ornate gold cartouche with scrollwork, presents a polychrome view of a Gothic-revival estate building with a stepped gable façade and red-tiled roof set among tall trees, identified below the cartouche as 'Pahren.' The denomination numeral '50' appears in black at the left and right margins, while four corner roundels in green carry descriptive inscriptions referencing local attributes of the Zeulenroda district.
