Obverse description The crowned municipal coat of arms of Crailsheim occupies the central field, depicting a quartered shield surmounted by a mural crown. A circular pearl border frames the design along the octagonal periphery. The legend STADT CRAILSHEIM arcs around the upper portion of the field, with the date 1917 continuing along the right side. Three small six-pointed stars are positioned at the base of the design between the legend terminations. The overall composition is rendered in a plain, utilitarian style consistent with wartime Notgeld production.
