Obverse description Central field features the municipal coat of arms of Cassel, depicting a diagonal bend with heraldic stars set within a shield surmounted by a mural crown with three towers. The denomination numeral '50' appears in large raised figures to the left and right of the shield, flanking it symmetrically. The city name legend reads 'STADT' along the upper periphery and 'CASSEL' along the lower periphery, separated by small floral ornaments. The overall composition is bold and utilitarian, characteristic of German Notgeld coinage of the early Weimar period.
