| Reverse description | The reverse carries a panoramic topographic vignette of the Schalkesberg castle complex (Das Haus zum Berg) above Porta Westfalica, executed in a detailed multicolour woodcut style with green hillsides, red-roofed buildings, and a datestone shield inscribed '1646' at lower right. A serial number prefixed 'D·NR.' appears in red and black at upper left, with the legend 'Das Haus zum Berg / PORTA WESTFALICA' at upper right, all enclosed within a red foliate border consistent throughout the series. Below the vignette, a Fraktur text panel records two historical events associated with Hausberge, dated 1020 and 1435 respectively. |
