Im ehemaligen Zechenhaus des Kupferbergwerkes Glücksbrunn wurde an dem Wasserlauf aus der Altensteiner Höhle im Jahre 1825 die erste Wollspinnerei Deutschlands mit Spinnmaschinen von J. Chr. Weiß eingerichtet.
