Obverse description Plain cream-coloured note printed entirely in black Gothic (Fraktur) script letterpress. The issuer title "Gutschein der Stadt Caub" appears at the top, with the denomination "Fünfzig Pfennig" in large bold Fraktur type below. A line reading "der Magistrat:" introduces a row of five manuscript facsimile signatures of municipal council members, beneath which a two-line validity clause states that the expiry date will be publicly announced; a serial number and the printer's imprint "Gebr. Parcus München" appear at the foot.

Reverse description The reverse is divided into two zones: on the left, a rectangular intaglio-style vignette in blue-green tones presents a detailed pen-and-ink view of the Pfalzgrafenstein castle rising from the Rhine River, with dramatic billowing clouds above and choppy water in the foreground, signed by the artist E. Neutowski in the lower margin. To the right, bold sans-serif lettering in brown reads "STADT CAUB" over the large numeral "50" and the word "PFENNIG" beneath.
