| Obverse description | Printed entirely in Gothic Fraktur hand-lettering on a plain paper ground, the obverse is enclosed within a bold black letterpress border. The denomination numeral '50' appears in red at upper left and is repeated as '50 Pfg.' in red at lower right, flanked by a wavy red guilloche band; the issuer name 'Rieder' is rendered in large decorative calligraphic letters occupying the central right field, incorporating a small landscape vignette within the initial 'R'. Validity text, the date '1. Sept. 21', and the countersignature of the Gemeindevorstand are set in a vertical column to the left. |

| Reverse lettering | Fürst Wolfgang verfolgte eifrig den frechen Räuber u. nahm ihn bei Ellrich gefangen. Er wurde dann in E. von einem hochnotpeinlichen Gericht zum Tode verurteilt. Zwei seiner Genossen wurden gehängt, er selbst durch Landsknechte befreit, setzte sein Räuberleben fort. (Translation: Prince Wolfgang eagerly pursued the audacious robber and captured him near Ellrich. He was subsequently sentenced to death in Ellrich by a high criminal court. Two of his companions were hanged; he himself was freed by landsknechts and continued his life of robbery.) |
