Süderbrarup is a small market town in Schleswig-Holstein, and like hundreds of German municipalities in 1917–1922, it issued its own emergency small-change notes — Notgeld — when wartime metal shortages gutted the coin supply. The DeNG reference places this within a well-documented series, and the 7c suffix indicates a specific text or color variant within what was likely a larger local issue.
Schleswig-Holstein Notgeld from smaller municipalities tends to survive in higher grades than issues from industrial centers, simply because rural collectors hoarded them early. The 1294 series from Süderbrarup is not among the rarer DeNG listings, but variant 7c is less frequently encountered than the base types.
