Obverse description The obverse is printed in red, yellow, and black on white paper, with a decorative border of small ornamental dots and a red outer frame. At centre-left, the municipal coat of arms of Freienwalde in Pommern is rendered as a heraldic vignette — a divided shield in red and yellow bearing a white eight-petalled flower and a cogwheel, topped with a gold crown and flanked by scrolled mantling. To the right, the issuer's name 'Freienwalde in Pom.' is set in large Gothic blackletter script beneath the caption 'Notschein der Stadt', while a framed panel in the upper right displays the denomination '50 Pfennig' in bold red numerals. Below, the validity clause and the authorisation 'Der Magistrat' appear alongside a manuscript signature, with the serial number printed in black and the printer's imprint 'Görlitzer Nachrichten und Anzeiger' at the lower left margin.

Reverse description The reverse is printed in black on a pink underprint, framed by a decorative scrollwork border of acanthus motifs in white on pink. The central vignette depicts a historical scene in fine letterpress engraving: a robed civic official reading from a document faces two armoured knights, referencing the granting of German municipal rights to Freienwalde. To the right, the denomination '50 Pfg.' is set within a plain rectangular panel headed and footed by the word 'NOTSCHEIN'. A caption panel at the base carries a three-line inscription in Gothic script describing the historical event, with small rosette ornaments at either end.
