Körner is a small village in the Unstrut-Hainich district, and its 1922 Notgeld issue is precisely the kind of hyper-local emergency scrip that makes German inflation-era paper so compulsively collectible. The printer, Chr. Gerlach of Mühlhausen, handled a number of Thuringian municipal commissions during this period — a regional firm doing regional work, which is why the lithography tends to be competent but unambitious.

Two signature variants are catalogued under DeNG 1#733.1-2/2, distinguished by the hand of Pfestorf as Gemeindevorstand and A. Freylung as Kassierer.
