| Obverse description | The obverse is printed in dark red and black on cream paper, with the title inscription 'Notgeld für Stendal i/s Altm.' across the top in Gothic script within a decorative border. The central vignette presents the municipal coat of arms of Stendal — a crowned eagle on a divided shield — flanked on either side by octagonal denomination cartouches bearing the numeral '50'. Below the arms, a two-line validity notice gives the expiry date of 31 December 1921, with the issuing authority 'Der Magistrat' and the date 'Stendal, d. 15. Juli 1921'; a serial number panel appears at lower left and a facsimile signature at lower right. The bottom register carries a silhouette panorama of the Stendal town skyline with its characteristic church towers. |

| Reverse description | The reverse is printed in black and red on cream paper and is divided into three vertical registers. The central panel contains a silhouette vignette of two figures seated at a table beneath a grapevine pergola, raising drinking vessels — a scene illustrating the local folk saying inscribed in two lines of Low German script across the top. Flanking panels on left and right each carry an ornate vignette of a grape cluster with foliage in a red-bordered frame, above large red denomination numerals '50' at lower left and right. A caption cartouche at the bottom centre reads '1. De Stendaler drinken gern Win.' |
