| Obverse description | Multicolour letterpress-printed notgeld on a fine guilloche underprint in blue-grey and gold tones, enclosed within an ornate foliate border in green and gold. At centre, an oval vignette bears the rampant lion of Ranis surmounted by a crown, flanked by decorative scrollwork; across the face the denomination legend "Gutschein Fünfzig Pfennig" is set in bold blackletter type. The serial number appears in a ruled box at lower left, the date and issuing authority "Ranis, den 1. Juli 1921 / Der Magistrat" with a manuscript signature at lower right, and a thematic motto banner occupies the foot of the note. |
