| Obverse description | Cream-toned note with a decorative scalloped border in pink and blue. At centre, a heraldic shield vignette shows a bishop figure with mitre and crozier standing beside a rampant lion beneath a conifer tree; the denomination numeral '50' appears in large pink letterpress type to either side of the shield. The issuer name 'SCHWEFELBAD TENNSTEDT i/Th' arches above the vignette in bold block lettering, while the value in words 'Fünfzig Pfennig' is rendered in Gothic script at the top. Below the central vignette, a redemption clause in Gothic script is followed by two manuscript facsimile signatures of the Magistrat, with the printer's imprint 'GERHARD STALLING · OLDENBURG' at the foot. |
