| Obverse description | Printed entirely in dark navy blue on plain grey paper, the obverse is set in blackletter (Fraktur) script throughout. The denomination '50 Pfennige' is displayed in large central numerals and text, flanked to the upper left by the issuing authority 'Nöschenroder Notgeld' and to the lower left by the date inscription 'Meschenroe, an'n 1. April 1921.' A regional dialect verse occupies the upper right panel within a simple ruled border, and two facsimile signatures appear at the foot, attributed to 'De Schulze Hirschelmann' and 'De Schöppe Päsler' respectively. |

| Reverse description | The reverse is printed in the same dark navy blue and carries a pastoral silhouette vignette after a Scherenschnitt (paper-cut art) design by Maria Alde, occupying the right half of the note. The silhouette shows two cows grazing on a hillside meadow beside a broad-canopied tree, with a standing herdsman figure and low shrubbery completing the rural scene; the municipal shield of Saxony appears at the lower right. A multi-stanza verse in Low German dialect, set in Fraktur script within a ruled panel, fills the left portion of the note, and the artist's credit 'Scherenschnitt von Maria Alde.' is inscribed at the foot centre. |
