| Obverse description | The central vignette presents the quartered municipal coat of arms of Sorau within an oval rope border, supported by a stag rampant to the left and a bear rampant to the right, all set against a rich red guilloche underprint with foliate scroll ornamentation. The denomination numeral '50' appears in each corner within rectangular panels. The issuer legend 'Stadt Sorau N.-L.' is printed in bold Gothic script across the upper margin, with 'Fünfzig Pfennig.' in matching script along the lower margin.
