| Obverse description | The centre of the obverse is occupied by the heraldic shield of the city of Trier on a red field, bearing a robed figure of Saint Peter holding a key and a book, rendered in a medieval artistic style with a golden halo. Large red numerals '50' flank the shield on either side, with 'Pfg' monograms in red at the lower left and right corners. A dense yellow-ochre underprint of repeated '50 Pfg' lettering covers the entire field, and a text block in Gothic script below the shield gives the validity clause and issuance details, concluding with the signature of the Oberbürgermeister. |
