Mülsen-Sankt Jakob was one of dozens of small Saxon municipalities forced into emergency currency production when postwar coin shortages made ordinary commerce unworkable. The Ratsdruckerei R. Dulce in nearby Glauchau handled printing for several of these local Gemeinde issues, which means the production quality was at least consistent, even if the backing authority was a village council rather than any formal banking institution.

The DeNG reference suffix suggests this belongs to a numbered series variant — slight differences in serial formatting or paper stock distinguish the eight known subtypes within this group.
