Reverse description Violet and ochre note with a wide decorative border of fine linear and ornamental motifs in dark purple and yellow-gold, enclosing large yellow-gold '50 / Pfennig' numerals and denomination panels on the left and right flanks. The central cartouche contains a detailed line-art vignette of the Merseburg Cathedral (Der Dom), rendered in a restrained illustrative style with figures in the foreground square; the caption 'Der Dom' is inscribed in the upper-left corner of the vignette, and the artist's signature 'Wessner' appears at the lower-left of the image.
