Obverse description Grey panels flank the left and right margins, printed with the denomination '50 Pfg' in yellow. A green wreath at centre frames a vignette of Schiller's residence, with a decorative banner and the city coat of arms of Rudolstadt running across the lower portion. The expiry notice and the issuing authority inscription appear in letterpress below the central vignette.

Reverse description Grey side panels carry bell vignettes in the upper corners and yellow wheat sheaves with the denomination '50 Pfg' in the lower corners. The central field bears a green circular underprint enclosing a harvest dance scene, surrounded by a quotation from Schiller's Das Lied von der Glocke (1799). A serial number is printed at the foot of the note.
