| Obverse description | Printed in black on violet paper, the obverse is dominated by a large bold blackletter numeral '50' set within a central rectangular frame, flanked at upper left by a vignette of the Luther rose and at upper right by a circular ornamental rosette. The denomination is spelled out in Gothic script as 'Fünfzig' at left and 'Pfennig' at right, with the issuing authority identified in a prominent blackletter banner reading 'Notgeld der Stadt Erfurt'. The note bears the date 'Erfurt, den 7. April 1921', a serial number with prefix 'B', and a manuscript signature on behalf of the Magistrat, with the printer's imprint 'J. Hanf – Erfurt' at the foot. |
