Obverse description A central woodcut-style portrait vignette of Martin Rinckart (1586–1649), the Lutheran pastor and hymn writer associated with Eilenburg, is set against a pale yellow ground, flanked on both sides by the city coat of arms of Eilenburg within decorative cartouches rendered in red and black heraldic colouring, with denomination numerals '50' and the abbreviation 'Pf.' at the corners. Below the central vignette, a bold red Gothic-script legend reads 'Gutschein der Stadt Eilenburg', accompanied by the manuscript signatures of the Magistrat officials and the printer's imprint 'LIERSCH.' at the lower left.

Der Magistrat:
Reverse description The centre carries a woodcut-style genre vignette illustrating inhabitants of Eilenburg fleeing with their belongings before an approaching enemy in 1633, evoking the hardships of the Thirty Years' War; bold red numerals '50' above and below the word 'Pfennig' appear within black oval cartouches to the left and right of the scene. A Gothic-script validity inscription runs above the central vignette, while a two-line italic caption below identifies the historical episode.
