Obverse description Printed in olive-green and black on plain paper, the obverse carries a panoramic woodcut-style vignette of the Münster city skyline as it appeared in 1570, with the date split across the upper portion of the scene. At centre, a large baroque cartouche bearing the city's heraldic arms — flanked by two lions rampant and surmounted by a crown — is set against a guilloche underprint, with the denomination numeral '50' to the left and the Gothic script abbreviation 'Pfg.' to the right. Below the cartouche, two text panels give the redemption condition on the left and the issuing authority inscription 'Münster, den 1. August 1921 / Der Magistrat' with facsimile signatures on the right, while the legend 'MÜNSTER · i/W.' runs along the lower border.
