Obverse description The note is printed in blue and white with a symmetrical border framework; the denomination numeral '50' appears in each corner, while bold letterpress banners at top and bottom carry the town name 'WILHELMSHAVEN' flanked by stylised angular vignettes in dark red and black. The central white panel bears the redemption clause in German, the date '10. Juni 1920', and the issuing authority line 'DER MAGISTRAT' above a manuscript signature. The overall layout is characteristic of German Notgeld letterpress production of the early 1920s.

Reverse description The reverse carries a multicolour pictorial vignette in red, blue, and black illustrating the industrial and maritime character of Wilhelmshaven: red-brick factory buildings with tall chimneys occupy the left and centre foreground, while the background opens onto a harbour scene with sailing vessels and a warehouse complex to the upper right. A large diagonal cartouche in blue bearing the denomination '50 PFENNIG' in white lettering dominates the upper left portion of the composition.
