Obverse description Pink-violet harlequin-pattern underprint covers the entire face, over which two heraldic shields are centrally placed side by side — a green shield bearing a bearded male head in profile to the left, and a pink shield charged with a bold cross — flanking the large numeral '50' set within an ornate green scrollwork vignette. The denomination 'Fünfzig-Pfennig' is inscribed in bold Gothic script across the upper portion, above the header legend 'Masurens Hauptstadt Lyck' in decorative lettering. Issue date, serial number, validity clause, and two manuscript signatures of the Magistrat appear in the lower margin.

Reverse description The reverse carries a large scenic vignette occupying the upper three-quarters of the note, rendering a panoramic watercolour-style view of the town of Lyck seen from across the lake, with a sailing boat in the left foreground, an arched stone bridge to the right, and church spires and municipal buildings along the distant skyline. The bold numeral '50' is placed in the upper-left corner above the vignette. Below the scene, within a pink lower panel, a two-column poem in Gothic script — a patriotic Masurian verse beginning 'Wild flutet der See!' — is printed in black letterpress.
