| Obverse description | The face is overlaid with a red and yellow guilloche underprint across the full field, with the large denomination numeral '50' in red at each lateral margin flanking a central polychrome vignette of the Neuwied municipal coat of arms — a crowned heraldic shield bearing diagonal red and yellow bands charged with a black eagle.
