| Obverse description | Blue letterpress note with an elaborate oak-leaf and acorn border framing the entire face. The denomination "Fünfzig Pfennig" is rendered in large Gothic blackletter script across the centre, above a five-line text in Fraktur explaining acceptance by the Kreiskommunalverband Cleve treasury, with the issue date "Cleve, den 12. November 1918" at lower left. A circular official seal of the Kreis-Ausschuss des Kreises Cleve bearing an eagle vignette is positioned at centre-bottom, flanked by the manuscript signature of the Landrat at lower right, with the serial number printed in blue at upper centre. |

| Reverse description | Printed in blue on plain paper, the reverse carries a central circular vignette of Schwanenburg castle rising above foliage, set within a fine guilloche ring and flanked by two identical circular medallions each enclosing the heraldic shield of Kleve — a silver cartwheel cross on a blue field. Denomination numerals "50" appear in each corner within square panels, and the outer border repeats the oak-leaf garland motif of the obverse, with a horizontal wave-line guilloche underprint filling the background. |
