| Obverse description | Dark blue letterpress Notgeld on cream paper, enclosed within an ornate scrollwork border with decorative rosettes at each corner bearing the numeral 50. The large denomination numeral and the legend GUTSCHEIN ÜBER / 50 Pfennig dominate the upper portion, below which the issuing authority DER STADT PFORZHEIM IN BADEN and the wartime date KRIEGSJAHR 1917 are set in bold display type. At centre, a blind-embossed circular municipality seal of Stadtgemeinde Pforzheim is applied, flanked by symmetrical foliate arabesques; to the lower right appear the place-date Pforzheim i/B., den 15. Dezember 1917, a facsimile signature of the Oberbürgermeister, and a red printed serial number with series letter prefix. |
