A large central oval guilloche rosette contains a seated male figure — rendered in the manner of a craftsman or miner at rest — flanked symmetrically by the numerals '50' in yellow. Bold red letterpress inscriptions at upper left and right read 'GÜLTIG IM BEZIRKE' and 'DER STADT DRESDEN' respectively, while the series designation 'REIHE SS' appears in red at lower left and the serial number at lower right.
