Obverse description Tan paper Notgeld gutschein with a fine guilloche underprint border. A central vignette depicts a full-figure medieval knight in plate armour, sword extended horizontally across the note. The denomination '50 PFENNIG' appears in large bold letterpress type on either side of the knight, with a serial number box at upper left and a circular red municipal seal of Coblenz at upper right. Redemption text in two columns flanks the lower portion of the note, dated 'Coblenz, den 1. April 1917', with the facsimile signature of the Oberbürgermeister at lower right.

Reverse description Plain tan paper reverse with an overall fine wave-pattern guilloche underprint in light brown. Two circular guilloche medallions, each enclosing the numeral '50', are positioned symmetrically at left and right of centre. A faint vignette of the Coblenz municipal coat of arms appears in the centre of the reverse underprint.
