| Obverse description | Tan paper Notgeld gutschein with a fine guilloche underprint border. A central vignette depicts a full-figure medieval knight in plate armour, sword extended horizontally across the note. The denomination '50 PFENNIG' appears in large bold letterpress type on either side of the knight, with a serial number box at upper left and a circular red municipal seal of Coblenz at upper right. Redemption text in two columns flanks the lower portion of the note, dated 'Coblenz, den 1. April 1917', with the facsimile signature of the Oberbürgermeister at lower right. |
