| Obverse description | Two-colour letterpress note in brown and salmon, with an elaborate scrollwork and floral guilloche underprint filling the upper register. The large bold numeral '50' occupies centre top, flanked by the inscriptions 'GUTSCHEIN DES FLECKEN BLECKEDE' and 'PFENNIG' interwoven into the ornamental pattern; at centre, a diamond-shaped vignette carries the municipal coat of arms of Bleckede — a rampant lion on a dark ground — encircled by the legend 'MAGISTRAT DES FLECKEN BLECKEDE'. Bleckede is a small market town on the Elbe in Lower Saxony, and like hundreds of similarly modest German municipalities, its local magistrate issued emergency small-change notes — Kleingeldscheine — during the severe coin shortage that gripped Germany from roughly 1916 onward. Gebrüder Jänecke of Hannover was a prolific printer of such Notgeld, supplying dozens of towns across the region with competently produced if undistinguished issues.
The Gra#B63.2b designation indicates a type variant within the Bleckede series — collectors should note that minor differences in serial number placement and overprint color distinguish the sub-varieties, and these distinctions matter for completeness.
