| Obverse description | At left, a partial guilloche numeral '50' in security ink, intended to register with its complement on the reverse through a transparent window in the shape of the Uruguayan national territory, within which four '50' numerals appear — two legible from the obverse, two from the reverse; a vertical red serial number is printed alongside the window. At center, the issuer's name, the Uruguayan coat of arms, commemorative dates '1967–2017', the inscription 'CINCUENTA ANIVERSARIO', and facsimile signatures of the Secretary General and President are arranged beneath the central vignette, with the face value in words below. At right, the face value in numerals, the 50th Anniversary BCU logo, the issue year, and a horizontal serial number in black with graduating digit size from left to right complete the composition. |

Issued to mark the fiftieth anniversary of the Banco Central del Uruguay, founded in 1967 following the separation of central banking functions from the Banco de la República Oriental del Uruguay. Oberthur Fiduciaire produced the substrate and print in France — the French firm had already supplied Uruguay with polymer notes before this commemorative run.
Commemorative polymer issues at this denomination tend to circulate briefly before being absorbed by collectors, meaning genuinely circulated examples of P#100 are less common than the print run figures might suggest.
