Obverse description Olive-green and brown intaglio print on a guilloche underprint. A portrait vignette of General José de San Martín in military uniform is positioned at right. A black overprint bearing the new denomination and currency designation under Ley 18.188 is applied over the original face of the note.

Reverse description Printed in olive-green and brown, the reverse presents a detailed architectural vignette of the Palacio del Congreso Nacional in Buenos Aires, rendered in fine intaglio line work with ornate guilloche scroll borders framing the composition. The denomination panel at lower centre reads CINCO MIL PESOS, with the numeral 5000 at lower right. A blank oval cartouche at right bears the red overprinted new value of 50 Pesos.
