| Obverse description | The Mexican national coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a Mexican golden eagle perched on a prickly pear cactus growing from a rocky outcrop, devouring a serpent in its beak and talons. The design is rendered in high relief with fine feather detail on the eagle's wings and body. An oak branch and a laurel branch flank the base of the cactus, tied together at the bottom.
