Obverse description Intaglio-printed portrait of José Gervasio Artigas at center, framed by laurel branches, with the Uruguayan coat of arms at left within an ornate guilloche border. The denomination numeral '50' appears in each corner against a blue and violet underprint, with series letter and red serial numbers printed twice. Three manuscript signatures appear below the central vignette.

Reverse description A large central intaglio vignette reproduces Juan Manuel Blanes's painting 'El Juramento de los Treinta y Tres Orientales' (The Oath of the Thirty-Three Orientals), rendered in fine line engraving across the full width of the note. Elaborate guilloche panels flank the scene on both sides, with the denomination numeral '50' at each corner. The printer's imprint 'THOMAS DE LA RUE & COMPANY, LIMITED' appears in small lettering at the bottom margin.
