Reverse description A finely detailed portrait of Fray Bartolomé de las Casas is depicted in three-quarter view, showing the Dominican friar seated and engaged in writing with a quill pen upon an open manuscript, wearing his habit and a pectoral cross. His right hand is raised thoughtfully to his chin, conveying scholarly contemplation. The legend V CENTENARIO 1492 arcs along the upper periphery between two five-pointed stars, with the date 1992 inscribed to the left of the figure and a mint mark below. The name BARTOLOME DE LAS CASAS curves along the lower field, while a rope border and decorative scroll ornaments frame the entire composition.
