Obverse description Single-sided note printed in black on plain paper, with a central vignette of a sailing vessel flanked by the denomination numeral '50' in large figures at left and right. The upper centre bears the issuer legend within a rectangular panel, below which the text reads 'Reconoce este Billete por Cincuenta Pesos Moneda Corriente'. An oval guilloche underprint frames the directorio authorization text, with two manuscript signatures across the lower centre. The date '1° Mayo 1856' is printed vertically along the right margin, and the word 'CINCUENTA' appears in a bold letterpress panel at the foot.
