Obverse description The obverse displays the Russian Imperial double-headed eagle with wings spread, each head surmounted by a crown and both heads together beneath a larger central imperial crown. At center, an escutcheon bears the Finnish coat of arms depicting a rampant lion. The eagle's right talon clutches a sceptre and the left a globus cruciger. A fine beaded border encircles the entire design, and the mint mark 'S' appears in the lower field at the base of the eagle's tail feathers.
