Obverse description Right-facing draped and diademed effigy of Queen Elizabeth II after the portrait by Arnold Machin, wearing a tiara and with hair swept upward. The legend ISLE OF MAN arcs along the left periphery and ELIZABETH II along the right, with the date 1982 positioned centrally at the base. The engraver's initials PM appear in small relief just above the date. The truncation of the bust is visible at the lower field.

Reverse description A dynamic depiction of a TT motorcycle racer, numbered 10, leaning aggressively into a curve at speed, rendered in high relief by engraver Leslie Lindsay. Rocky terrain suggestive of the Isle of Man mountain course is visible in the background to the right. The central device is flanked on both sides by laurel branches arcing from the base upward toward the periphery. The legend TT appears at the top of the field above the racer, and the denomination 50 is inscribed at the base within the laurel wreath.
