Obverse description The fifth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Jody Clark, depicted as a right-facing crowned bust with the Queen wearing the George IV State Diadem adorned with floral and foliate ornaments, a drop earring visible at the ear. The peripheral legend reads ELIZABETH II·D·G·REG·F·D· with the denomination 50 PENCE and date 2019 completing the inscription around the heptagonal field. The engraver's initials J.C appear in small relief below the truncation of the neck, set against a deeply mirrored proof field.
