Obverse description Right-facing crowned and draped effigy of Queen Elizabeth II after the portrait by Raphael David Maklouf, wearing the George IV State Diadem and a pearl necklace. The legend arcs around the upper periphery reading ELIZABETH II · ST. HELENA QUINCENTENARY · 1502-2002, with the denomination 50 PENCE inscribed along the lower field. The initials RDM appear truncated below the portrait. The deeply mirrored proof fields provide strong contrast against the frosted relief of the effigy.
