Pitcairn Islands coinage exists almost entirely as a licensing exercise — the island's population has hovered around 40 to 50 people for decades, making any domestic monetary circulation effectively fictional. This piece is part of a series issued under arrangement with the British Crown dependency administration, timed to coincide with the 85th anniversary of the Beano comic, the British anthology that has run continuously since 1938 and claims the longest unbroken run of any weekly comic in the world.
Roger the Dodger debuted in Beano issue No. 335 in 1953, created by Charles Grigg.
