| Reverse description | Central depiction of the Queen of Hearts, a rotund caricature figure wearing an elaborate royal gown and a crown, rendered in the style of John Tenniel's original illustrations for Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. The figure is surrounded by playing card suit symbols — hearts and spades — scattered across the deeply mirrored field. To the left, the famous quotation appears in multi-line lettering: "That's enough! Off with their heads!", while the denomination numeral 50 is inscribed to the upper right. |

Released as part of the Isle of Man's long-running commemorative 50 pence program, this piece marks the 25th anniversary of the death of Diana, Princess of Wales — an event that generated one of the largest spontaneous public mourning responses in modern British history. The "Queen of Hearts" designation derives directly from Diana's 1995 Panorama interview with Martin Bashir, in which she used the phrase to describe the role she hoped to occupy.
The Isle of Man has issued Diana-related commemoratives across multiple decades, leveraging its status as a Crown dependency with independent minting authority. KM# 2049 was struck at Pobjoy Mint.
